Project Description

The large scale construction project highlighted here required a company with large capacity rolling capabilities and experience. Oakley Steel was contracted perform the required work, fabricating a number of large structural steel components to be used for the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts in Kansas City, MO. A series of diverse sections were manufactured utilizing our Rollform section bender, performing rolling, bending, forming, and curving operations on carbon steel to achieve the specified shapes and lengths. 450 tons of steel was furnished for this project, the shapes and dimensions of which include beams 16″ wide x 26 lbs./ft. x 40′ long; channels 12″ wide x 20.7 lbs./ft. x 60′ long; Tee’s 12″ wide x 34 lbs./ft. x 60′ long; tubing 12″ square x 1/2″ wall x 48′ long; and angles 6″ x 6″ x 3/8″ thick x 40′ long.

This project was completed in only 6 weeks, with all work meeting the customer and our own stringent standards of uncompromising quality.
